  4. The collector of a transistor is moderately doped.
  5. It is the portion where the charges are accumulated, and thus heat is released.
  6. So, to protect the transistor from heating up and burning, the collector is always larger in size than that of the emitter & base region.

Thus, the collector of the transistor should be of large size and moderate doping.
