Conductivity is a numerical expression of the tendency of an aqueous solution to carry an electric current. An expression of how quickly an ion flows via a membrane, either through active pumps located in the ion channel membrane; conductance (G) for that ion increases when particular ion channels open. Due to the motion of ions, electricity is conducted in an electrolytic solution. Electricity is conducted through an electrolytic solution due to the movement of ions. In general, the greater the number of ions in the solution higher is the conductance.
