  1. Power is defined as the quantity of energy transported or converted per unit of time.
  2. A windmill is a machine that generates electricity through the mechanical energy of wind.

Power generated by the windmill depends on:

  1. The Rotor area links directly to wind power output. The output power of a turbine doubles when the rotor area doubles. The area that the wind turbine's blades sweep is known as the rotor area. Therefore, the power production increases as the size of the turbine blades increases.
  2. Wind speed and power are exponentially correlated. Power generation increases eight times with a doubling of wind speed.
  3. The height of the wind turbine above the ground affects wind speed. Wind power output almost doubles when a tower's height is doubled.
  4. Air density relates directly to wind power. At sea level, the air is densest. Because of this, there are a lot of wind farms near or in oceans and seas.

So, the power generated in a windmill depends upon the rotor area, wind speed, height of the windmill, and air density.
