To completely describe force acting on a body, We need to

Open in App
Solution

Force:

  1. The force exerted on a mass item causes it to change velocity. It is represented by the alphabet “F”.
  2. The unit of force is Newton(N).
  3. When a force is applied to a body, its form might transform or modify.

Newton's second law:

A quantifiable representation of the effects that a force could have on the body's motion. It says that the temporal rate of change of an entity's momentum is identical in size and orientation to the force put on it.

Mathematical representation:

F=ma

Here,

F is the force.

m is the mass of the object.

a is the acceleration.

Explanation:

Whenever a batsman knocks a six, the speed with which the ball reaches the boundary is determined by the amount of power with which he smacks the ball. This same direction in which the ball crosses the boundary, however, is determined by the direction wherein the batsman performs the shot.

Example - Forces due to gravity, electric fields, and magnetic fields

Therefore, to completely describe the force acting on a body, we need to specify both the direction and magnitude of the force.
