Two important characteristics of parenchyma tissue:

  1. Parenchyma tissue is the living permanent tissue having the ability to undergo division at maturity and help in the regeneration and healing of the wounds of the tissue.
  2. They are essential for several fundamental activities in plants such as photosynthesis, assimilation, and respiration.
