Liquid:

  • In liquid, the intermolecular forces are weaker than that of solids.
  • Liquid has a definite volume but the shape of the liquid is not fixed. It usually takes the shape of a container.
  • Examples are alcohol as well as water.

Water:

  • Water is liquid at room temperature.
  • At room temperature 25oC, water can flow easily.
  • At low temperatures (below 0°C), it is solid.
  • At temperature above 100oC, water is a gas.
