Rest:

  1. An object is said to be at rest if it does not change its position with respect to its surroundings with time.
  2. It is the state of being stationary with respect to a given frame of reference.
  3. Rest can be defined as sleeping, sitting, standing, staring, lying, a fixed clock, a bottle on a table, or a tree.
