Solution

Wool and its sources:

  1. Wool is a natural fiber obtained from the fleece of animals such as sheep, goats, camels, rabbits, etc.
  2. These fibers are made up of a protein called keratin.
  3. Wool can trap the heat and keep the body warm.
  4. It is a versatile fabric woven into heavy or light-weight fabrics.

Some examples of sources of wool are:

  1. Angora: It is obtained from the Angora rabbit, which is soft and has excellent heat retention capacity.
  2. Lamb’s wool: This is expensive and soft wool as it is obtained from the first shearing of a baby sheep when it is only a few months old.
  3. Cashmere: It is obtained by combing the cashmere goats instead of shearing and hence very expensive. It is very soft and light in weight.
