Puberty is when a child’s body begins to develop and change as they become an adult. At the time of puberty, secondary sexual characters develop, and sexual maturity takes place. The average age for girls to begin puberty is 11. This is manifested by many changes in both girls and boys.
Changes that are seen in girls at the time of puberty
- Voice becomes thin
- Breasts enlarge
- Hips become rounded
- Hairs grow under the armpit and in the pubic area
- Most girls gain weight (which is normal) as their body shape changes
- Acne infections can cause at the time of puberty.
