  1. A plane mirror is readily described as a mirror with something like a smooth surface and therefore no inside or external curvature.
  2. When the image in a plane mirror is as well behind the mirror as the item in front of it, and the front of the picture and front of the objects face each other such that the left-hand object represents a right hand in the image and vice versa for the right hand is called lateral inversion.
