  • A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture of solute and solvent where the solute particles do not get dissolved in the solvent.
  • Examples are muddy water, chalk powder, and a mixture of dust.

Properties of suspension:

  • The size of solute particles in a suspension is larger in diameter. It is more than100mm.
  • It is unstable in nature as its particles settled down over time.
  • One can easily see the particles in suspension with naked eyes.
  • In suspension, since the particles are non-dissolvable thus they can be separated by using filter paper.
