Pesticides and insecticides are chemicals which are specifically targeted to inhibit the growth of pests or outright kill them. Hence, these chemicals can be dangerous to humans if exposed.
The effect of the toxicity depends on the duration and the amount of exposure. But the general consensus is that the longer the exposure, the more harm that is caused. Moreover, some chemicals readily dissolve through the skin or are absorbed quickly through the bloodstream.
From an environmental perspective, some of these chemicals linger longer and may leech into water bodies or find their way into the food chain. This can have extreme repercussions that will affect human health as well as the environment.
