Meaning of cartesian system.

A cartesian system is a system in which the position of points is located in the plane using two perpendicular lines.

The two perpendicular lines are known as x-axis andy-axis intersect at their respective zeroes. and intersection point is called the origin of the system.

The vertical line is y-axis and the horizontal line is x-axis.

The points are represented in the cartesian system asx,y.

The intersection of x-axis and y-axis divides the coordinate system into four quadrants.
