Question

What if there is no gravity on earth?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Definition

A force that attracts a body towards the center of the earth, or towards any other physical body having mass is called gravity.

Examples of gravity are as follows:

  1. The moon revolves around the planet (earth) due to gravity.
  2. Gravity holds the gases throughout the sun together.

Step 2: If there is no gravity on earth

When there's no gravity around the earth, materials or objects begin to fall off as well as the path traveled would not be a straight line. Things started to levitate or fly.

Therefore, it is critical to realize that gravity would be caused by the mass of the Earth. If somehow the earth's mass has been removed, gravity is immediately removed.
