What is a cyst?

Cysts are closed sac or pocket like membranous tissues filled with liquid or semisolid substance,which grows abnormally anywhere within the body under the skin. These membranous tissues can vary in their shape and size, which depends on their type and location. 

There are different types of cysts, among which most of the cysts are noncancerous. These cysts, typically appear on the face, neck, trunk,ovary, etc. The Cysts generally develops when oil and dead skin block a pore and also by the clogging of sebaceous glands.

Among different types of Cysts , Ganglion cysts are noncancerous and most common, which are found in the hand and are formed as lumps on the skin. The common causes of cysts include infections, hereditary and other defects during fetal development.
