The square root of any number is a number when multiplied by itself gives the original number. It is represented by the square root symbol $\sqrt{}$.
Let us say $a$ is a positive integer, such that

$$\begin{gathered} \sqrt{a.a}=\sqrt{a^2} \\ =a \end{gathered}$$

• Square root of a perfect square number is a perfect number.
• If a number has an even number of zeros at the end then its square root will have half of it.
• Square root of an even number is even and the square root of an odd number is odd.

Thus, a square root of any number is a number that when multiplied by itself gives the original number.
