What is a tissue?

Tissue can be defined as a group of cells with similar shape and function are called tissues. They form a cellular organizational level, intermediate between the cells and organ system. Organs are then created by the combination of the functional groups of tissues.

Types of tissues

The tissues present in plants are different. Plants and animals have different types of tissues.

Types of animal tissue

Animal tissues are classified into four types which are listed below

  • Connective tissue
  • Muscle tissue
  • Nervous tissue
  • Epithelial tissue

Types of plant tissue

Plant tissue is made up of a group of cells and the types are listed below

  • Epidermis Tissues
  • Vascular Tissues
  • Ground Tissue
