  • One mole of a substance contains exactly 6.022×1023 elementary entities.
  • The value of the Avogadro number is a fixed value and it is also called the Avogadro constant.
  • It is represented as symbol (NA) and expressed in the unit mol-1.
  • The elementary entities may be an atom, a molecule, an ion, an electron, or any other particle.
  • For example: 1mol of hydrogen atoms =6.022×1023 atoms, 1mol of water molecules =6.022×1023 water molecules, 1mol of sodium chloride =6.022×1023 molecular units of sodium chloride.
