Modern methods of irrigation:

It aids in the efficient use of water. Two of the modern methods of irrigation that conserve water are:

  • Sprinkler system:
  1. It is helpful on uneven soil where there isn't enough water.
  2. Water is delivered to one or more central sites within the field via pipes in this approach.
  3. Water escapes from the rotating nozzles when it is permitted to flow under pressure through the main pipe with the help of a pump.
  4. It is helpful for coffee plantations.
  • Drip irrigation:
  1. The water falls directly near the roots in this arrangement, drop by drop.
  2. As a result, it's known as a drip system.
  3. It's a boon in areas where water is scarce.
  4. It is the best technique for watering fruit plants, trees, and gardens.
