Motion can be classified into three, such as:

a. Linear motion:

A movement in a straight line is called linear motion. The linear motion is further classified based on the route of motion as follows:

1. Rectilinear Motion: The path of the motion is a straight line called as rectilinear motion.
2. Curvilinear Motion: The path of the motion is curved called curvilinear motion.

b. Oscillatory motion:

A motion in which an item travels in such a way that it arrives at and leaves a specific place on a regular basis is called oscillatory motion.

c. Rotary motion:

The motion occurs when a body rotations in one's own axial direction is known as rotatory motion.
