Question

What is Ohm's Law and Resistance?

Open in App
Solution

Ohm's Law:

  1. Ohm's law states that the current flowing through any conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference across its ends if the temperature and physical conditions remain constant.
  2. Ohm's law has a mathematical expression which is shown below.

v=RI

Here v is the voltage, R is resistance and I is current.

Resistance:

  1. The opposition that a substance provides to the flow of electric current is referred to as resistance.
  2. The uppercase letter R represents it.
  3. Its unit is ohm.
