Solution

Pseudopodia:

  1. Pseudopodia are temporary projections of the cytoplasm of a cell.
  2. Pseudopodia are used for locomotion and feeding in amoeba and white blood cells.
  3. The activation of the polymerization of the actin filaments forces the membrane to extend and form pseudopodia.
  4. Pseudopodia are formed in white blood cells to trap pathogens by a process called phagocytosis.
  5. The amoeboid movement also occurs due to pseudopodia wherein the cytoplasm flows into the pseudopodia causing the actin filaments to rearrange which propels the cell body forward.
