What is system log?
The system log (Syslog) includes a record of the operating system (OS) events that shows how the system processes and drivers were loaded. The Syslog gives informational, error and warning events related to the computer OS.
The events recorded are the significant occurrences in the Operating System that require notifying the user. The log comprises of information about the software, hardware, system processes and system components. It also symbolises whether the processes loaded successfully or not. The information can then be used to diagnose the sources of computer problems or errors, whereas the warnings can be used to predict potential system issues and problems.
