Question

What is the domain and range of f(x)=1x?

Open in App
Solution

Find the domain and range of f(x)=1x.

  • Domain is the set of all values for which the function is defined
  • Range is the set of all the output values that a function takes.

Now, as the function f(x)=1xis defined for all real values of x accept x=0. Because at this point function is not defined.

So, the domain of the function is R-0 also the range of the functionf(x)=1x, for every value of x (accept x=0) we get f(x)=R-0

Therefore, the domain and range of the function is R-0.
