Question

The formula for Calculating Wattless Current

Open in App
Solution

Determine the formula for Calculating Wattless Current

Wattles's current happens in an alternating current circuit whenever the average power utilized in the circuit is equal to zero. This type of current is sometimes referred to as Idle Current. Whereas if the average power required by the circuit is zero, all current in the alternating current circuit is said to be wattless.

The wattless current is the element of an alternating current that uses no power inside a circuit. This equation describes the average power wasted in an AC circuit.

P=VIcosϕ

Where,

  • V-The circuit's applied voltage
  • I-The circuit's current flow
  • ϕ-The voltage-current phase difference

Hence, the formula for Calculating Wattless Current "P=VIcosϕ".
