What is the Reason Behind the White Coat of Tigers?

The white colour of the coat of the tigers is due to the mutation in the pigment gene SLC45A2. This gene is associated with light colouration in modern Europeans and animals like chickens, fish, horses, etc. However, the white tigers are only found in captivity nowadays. The original population had been hunted long back.
