Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Definition

A joule is a unit of energy equivalent to a “watt-second”. A Kilowatt-hour is therefore 1000×3600joules.

(Kilo=1000,and 3600secondsperhour).

Step 2: Finding the relation between one kilowatt-hour and joule

According to the above definition,

1kWh=1kW×1h=1000W×3600s=1000js-1×3600s=3.6×106J

Therefore, the relation between one kilowatt-hour and joule 1kWh=3.6×106J.
