What Is The Role Of Sacred Groves In Conserving Biodiversity?

A sacred grove is any grove of a tree that is of religious importance to a particular culture. The sacred groves are not harmed by people because of the religious values and fear of diety. They believe that the person who harms the sacred groves is harmed by the presiding God or Goddess. These religious beliefs help in the conservation of the sacred groves and the diverse species residing on it. Peepal, gular and bargad trees are of religious importance.
