What was the mode of worship during the Bhakti age?


The mode of worship during the Bhakti age was by travelling to different places by singing hymns. These hymns were sung by the devotees in praise of their Gods. The hymns sung by these devotees were in Tamil. 

The Bhakti movement was started in South India by the devotees of Lord Shiva and by the devotees of Lord Vishnu. The devotees of Lord Shiva were known as Nayanars and the devotees of Lord Vishnu were known as Alvaras.
