Solution

The force between two charged glass rods:

  1. When 2 glass rods are rubbed with silk cloths, they develop positive charges, as they lose some electrons due to friction caused by rubbing.
  2. Now both the glass rods have the same type of charge (i.e. positive charge).
  3. According to the fundamental law of electrostatics, like charges repel and unlike charges attract each other.
  4. So when the charged glass rods, are brought towards each other, they repel each other.
