When HCl reacts with manganese dioxide what does it evolve chlorine gas?

When concentrated hydrochloric acid(HCl) reacts with manganese dioxide, chlorine gas, manganese(II) chloride and water are liberated. So chlorine gas evolves when HCl acid is added to manganese dioxide.
