Question

Why does gravity have no quantum properties?

Open in App
Solution

Gravity:

  1. Gravity can be defined as the force of attraction that is responsible for the mutual attraction between all things. And according to quantum mechanics, everything is made up of quanta, or energy packets that may act as both a particle and a wave.
  2. Gravity doesn't possess quantum properties because there is no theory that can relate gravity with quantum. The research is still in a progress.
  3. The problem with developing a quantum gravity theory is that their predictions are frequently difficult to test empirically. And due to this, scientists are unable to understand how it works.
  4. And another point is that the relativity theory explains gravity better so this can be used to relate gravity with the quantum. But the problem with this is that the behavior of subatomic particles is defined in this theory. And behavior is very important to relate both the fields.
