In India, Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival. India’s Union Minister for Agriculture, Kulapati Dr. K M Munshi, began this movement in the year 1950. We take the opportunity to help ourselves realize the excellence of backwoods and plants, and the value of their genetic properties, without which trees will not adapt or thrive, on the International Day of Forests.
