Rajasthan Government plans to bring in NCERT Books for Government Schools and those recognized by it from the next academic session. This was decided following the recommendation from the syllabus review committee.
NCERT Books in English and Hindi medium for Classes 6 to 8 would be introduced from the next academic session. “A new book of the NCERT, ‘Hamara Rajasthan,’ will be introduced in three parts from Classes 6 to 8 to educate students about Rajasthan’s Geography, History and Culture”, announced Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara.
At the same time, NCERT English and Hindi-medium books will also be introduced for Rajasthan Board Classes 9 and 11. Meanwhile, for the 10th and 12th Classes, the existing syllabus will continue in the next academic session. The Minister added that NCERT books will be introduced for these classes from 2021-22.
Provision is also introduced to include four books pertaining to the role of Rajasthan in the freedom movement (Class 9), Rajasthan’s history, and culture (Class 10), India After Independence -I (Class 11), and India After Independence- II (Class 12). According to the Education Minister, these NCERT books will help students prepare for the civil services exam.
