Travelling Resolutions To Make And Follow – World Tourism Day

Team StoryWeavers|November 17, 2020, 13:12 IST| 46

Are you a responsible tourist? What makes a responsible tourist and why is it so important?

With festival and winter vacations on the way, we gear up to embark on new journeys to different parts of our country and the world. This World Tourism Day we want you to remember to enjoy your vacations, and be mindful of your actions in new places too!

Don’t turn paradise into plastic-land : A sparkling lake, the lush greenery of mountains, a forest with animals big and small, a beach with a stunning sunset, scuba diving and swimming with different types of fish – Imagine all these beautiful sights ruined due to plastic pollution and waste dumped without a second though! Most tourist hubs have dustbins, look for the nearest dustbins and throw your waste there, if not carry an extra bag with you for all your garbage and throw it once back at base. It always helps in keeping our favourite tourist spots beautiful and thriving.

Learn before you board : When travelling to different states in India or to different countries, knowing about the culture and lifestyle of the place not only saves you from passing embarrassing comments, but you will also not offend the locals. Read up about the culture, heritage and history of the place. Not only does it make you more knowledgeable, but it also adds value to your trip.

Explore Local : Talking to locals, buying souvenirs from small locals shops etc. these are some ways in which you can help learn more and help the hardworking locals financially. A trip is not an experience if you have not tried what makes the place special – which is the local cuisine, visiting places hidden from the usual tourist eye, trying out attires etc. Not only will this help you learn more about the local life, but also give you an amazing story to tell back home.

Appreciate and don’t judge : While exploring new cities you might come across things that surprise you, instead of judging the habits, living styles etc. appreciate the diversity. If you disapprove of something, never say it out loud as you might offend people around. Being polite and helpful always helps make your journey a smooth one.

Be flexible and try out everything : Trying out new dishes, learning the local language, travelling by public transport etc. are just a few things that will make your journey an adventure.

There is no better recreation than trying something new. Every year, we plan to visit a new place as family. This summer vacation, we went to the ones of the best tourist spots of India. We planned a 5 day trip to the Fun Capital of India, Goa and booked a van for the same.

Goa is one of the famous places located in the south western region of our country. Goa is very well known for its beaches and places of worship. The main reason we selected Goa as our destination this year is the big number of beaches the place has. We made it to Varca Beach, Cavelessom Beach, Utorda Beach, Arambol Beach and Ashwem Beach.

Since we love adventure, we planned our first day to Bats Island. At Bats Island, we spent the whole day relaxing and Snorkelling. The second day we enjoyed sightseeing in speed boat cruising. We enjoyed this day a lot since we had good time with the cruise. The next day we booked a van for sightseeing places namely Fort Aguada, Jimmy’s Palace, Central Jail, Raj Bhawan and Dolphin Watch.

The best part of our trip was the fourth day Dudhsagar Waterfalls, which is the fifth largest waterfalls in our country. The natural scenery we found there was splendid and our photo session at Dudhsagar Waterfalls was the best. The last day we relaxed in the resort we booked. We did a fine shopping of all precious things available in Goa and enjoyed our evening in Baga Beach before returning back to hometown.

MY FAVOURITE PLACE I WANT TO VISIT WITH MY FAMILY AND MY FRIENDS

With schools and colleges closed we have a good opportunity to travel with my family and friends. I want to visit many interesting places in the world like France, Canada, America, Germany etc. But first I want to travel different places of India like Darjeeling the queen of summer, Jaipur the pink city, Kashmir the valley of fun and adventure and many more. But I want to travel to Sikkim.

It is often seen that people tend to overlook the northeastern States like Sikkim,Assam etc for spending holidays in India. One of the most beautiful place I wish to visit with my family and friends this time that is Sikkim; the second smallest state in the country that has lots to offer to its visitors. The west district of Sikkim ,Pelling is a top family vacation in India. The breathtaking Mt. Khangchendzonga is what appeals the tourist the most here. I want to visit Pamayangste monastery, Sanga choling , Monastery, Rock garden at Rimbi, Kanchenjungha falls, Singshore bridge, Chhange waterfalls and the lakes here. Kayaking, Rafting and Trekking are other some interesting activities that add excitement in a vacation in Pelling.

Another interesting place in Sikkim I wish to visit is Ravangla located in southern district of Sikkim. It consist of unbelievable natural beauty. Many lofty mountain peaks such as Mt. Pandim, Mt.Kabru etc are present here. And the most important the Ralong Monastery is known for producing the best hand woven carpets in India.

And I will don’t do any waste and also tell people to keep clean the tourist places. Because of this many reason I want to go Sikkim.

I would love to visit any place in the countryside near the woods…. E.g.: Cold Shimla or Kerala. When my family and friends are along, I don’t basically care about the place where I am visiting, rather I care about their safety and whether they are enjoying the visit or not. However if you ask me, I would love to visit Shimla. The cold region with snow covered trees and mountains. We can make snow balls and snowman with a carrot nose and branchy arms. We can have a real fun time together and get to understand each other well. We will also love to enjoy learning their culture and traditions for a while and make millions of memories.

I would like to visit to Kerala with my friends, family, and relatives. I would like visit Kerala. Specially I would like to visit Kerala during monsoon because I have heard the in monsoon the seen in Kerala is very very beautiful.
Kovalam beach near Thiruvananthapuram was among the first beaches in Kerala to attract tourists. Rediscovered by back-packers and tan-seekers in the 1960s and followed by hordes of hippies in the 1970s, Kovalam is today the most visited beach in the state.[13][14][15]

Other popularly visited beaches[16] in the state include those at Kappad, Alappuzha, Marari Beach(Mararikulam, Alappuzha), Nattika (Thrissur), Vadanappilly beach (Thrissur), Cherai Beach, Beypore beach, Marari beach, Fort Kochi, and Varkala. The Muzhappilangad Beach at Kannur is the only drive-in beach in India. Marari beach was rated as one of the worlds top five HAMMOCK BEACH by National Geographic survey. Payambalam beach is one of the most beautiful beach in Kerala situated in Kannur. Other beaches in Kannur include baby beach, meenkunnu beach, azhikode beach, madaiparra beach, chootath beach, mermaid beach.
backwaters in Kerala are a chain of brackish lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast (known as the Malabar Coast). Houseboat or Kettuvallam rides in the backwaters are a major tourist attraction. Backwater tourism is centered mostly around Ashtamudi Lake, Kollam. Boat races held during festival seasons are also a major tourist attraction in the backwater regions.

The backwater network includes large lakes such as the Ashtamudi Lake, the largest among them, linked by 1500 km of canals, both man-made and natural and fed by several rivers, and extending virtually the entire length of Kerala state. The backwaters were formed by the action of waves and shore currents creating low barrier islands across the mouths of the many rivers flowing down from the Western Ghats range.

Backwaters in Kerala for honeymoon and family holiday are quite popular. You may short some best Kerala backwaters tour packages after reading about Kerala backwaters reviews available on various websites.
Eastern Kerala consists of land encroached upon by the Western Ghats; the region thus includes high mountains, gorges, and deep-cut valleys. The wildest lands are covered with dense forests, while other regions lie under tea and coffee plantations (established mainly in the 19th and 20th centuries) or other forms of cultivation.

The Western Ghats rise on average to 1500 m elevation above sea level. Some of the popular hill stations in the region are Munnar, Vagamon, Paithalmala, Wayanad, Nelliyampathi, Elapeedika, Peermade, Thekkady and Ponmudi.
Most of Kerala, whose native habitat consists of wet evergreen rainforests at lower elevations and highland deciduous and semi-evergreen forests in the east, is subject to a humid tropical climate. However, significant variations in terrain and elevation have resulted in a land whose biodiversity registers as among the world’s most significant. Most of Kerala’s significantly biodiverse tracts of wilderness lie in the evergreen forests of its easternmost districts. Kerala also hosts two of the world’s Ramsar Convention-listed wetlands: Lake Sasthamkotta and the Vembanad-Kol wetlands are noted as being wetlands of international importance. There are also numerous protected conservation areas, including 1455.4 km2 of the vast Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. In turn, the forests play host to such major fauna as Asian elephant (Elephas maximus), Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), leopard (Panthera pardus), Nilgiri tahr (Nilgiritragus hylocrius), and grizzled giant squirrel (Ratufa macroura).[18] More remote preserves, including Silent Valley National Park in the Kundali Hills, harbour endangered species such as the lion-tailed macaque (Macaca silenus), Indian sloth bear (Melursus (Ursus) ursinus ursinus), and gaur (the so-called “Indian bison”—Bos gaurus). More common species include Indian porcupine (Hystrix indica), chital (Axis axis), sambar (Cervus unicolor), gray langur, flying squirrel, swamp lynx (Felis chaus kutas), boar (Sus scrofa), a variety of catarrhine Old World monkey species, gray wolf (Canis lupus), and common palm civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). Many reptiles, such as king cobra, viper, python, various turtles and crocodiles are to be found in Kerala—again, disproportionately in the east. Kerala’s avifauna include endemics like the Sri Lanka frogmouth (Batrachostomus moniliger), Oriental bay owl, large frugivores like the great hornbill (Buceros bicornis) and Indian grey hornbill, as well as the more widespread birds such as peafowl, Indian cormorant, jungle and hill myna, Oriental darter, black-hooded oriole, greater racket-tailed and black drongoes, bulbul (Pycnonotidae), species of kingfisher and woodpecker, jungle fowl, Alexandrine parakeet, and assorted ducks and migratory birds. Additionally, freshwater fish such as kadu (stinging catfish—Heteropneustes fossilis) and brackishwater species such as Choottachi (orange chromide—Etroplus maculatus, valued as an aquarium specimen) also are native to Kerala’s lakes and waterways.
Lighthouses are the main centre of attractions of Kerala beaches and coast line. There are 15 lighthouses in the entire state of Kerala. Districts of Kollam, Kannur, Kozhikode, Alappuzha, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram have more than one lighthouse.[20]

Major Lighthouses
Vizhinjam lighthouse, Thiruvananthapuram
Anjengo lighthouse, Thiruvananthapuram
Tangasseri Lighthouse, Kollam
Kovilthottam Lighthouse, Kollam
Alappuzha Lighthouse, Alappuzha
Manakkodam Lighthouse, Alappuzha
Cochin Lighthouse, Ernakulam(Tallest in the state)
Azhikode Lighthouse, Thrissur
Chetwai Lighthouse, Thrissur
Ponnani Lighthouse, Malappuram
Beypore Lighthouse, Kozhikode
Kozhikode lighthouse, Kozhikode (Defunct)
Cannanore Lighthouse, Kannur
Mount Dilly Lighthouse, Kannur
Kasargode Lighthouse, Kasargode
One more reason I would like to tell the why I want to visit Kerala because it is a very clean place and all the people living there is educated.
Because of this following reason I would like to go to Kerala With my friend, family and relatives.
