The Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET) is conducted once a year by the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, for admissions of Uttar Pradesh domicile candidates to various agriculture courses provided at the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (Kanpur), the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (Meerut), Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (Faridabad), and the Banda University of Agriculture and Technology (Banda).

UPCATET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Before proceeding to apply for the UPCATET 2023 examination, candidates must go through the following eligibility criteria. If a candidate fails to be in compliance with the eligibility criteria, admission of the candidate may get affected, and they will be responsible for the same. These eligibility criteria are as per the UPCATET 2023 official website.
- The candidate must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh, India. The following points must be taken care of in order to understand the definition of “the resident of Uttar Pradesh” as per UPCATET:
- The candidates who have their qualifying exams from Uttar Pradesh and they are staying in Uttar Pradesh for the last five years.
- An Indian citizen whose “place of residence” or the “place of origin” is Uttar Pradesh and themselves is a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- The candidates whose father’s “place of residence” or the “place of origin” was not Uttar Pradesh, but the candidate or their father has taken over the residence in Uttar Pradesh. In such a case, the candidate’s time of residing in Uttar Pradesh must not be less than five years during the time of submitting the application form.
- A person of Indian origin living abroad whose ancestors were natives of Uttar Pradesh.
- The condition for candidates who are either the Indian government employees serving in Uttar Pradesh or the employees of the public undertakings, such as Life Insurance Corporation, nationalised banks, Indian heavy electricals, Indian Drugs and Pharmaceutical Ltd., is that these candidates must present the affidavit on the stamp paper of the concerned organisation.
- Prior to the online application, the candidates must ensure the eligibility of their educational qualifications.
- Age Limit: The minimum age of the candidates as of December 31 2023, must be 16 years, and the maximum age can be 22 years of age, except for the course B.V.Sc. & A.H., for which the age limit will be 17-25 years of age. A relaxation of 5 years is granted for the candidates belonging to SC, ST or OBC category and to the Person with Disability (PWD).
- There are no age limits for the candidates applying for the postgraduate and PhD programmes.
UPCATET 2023 Syllabus
The syllabus for the examination for admission to various undergraduate courses is the same as determined by the U.P. Board for Grade 12 examinations. For postgraduate courses, the syllabus of examination would be the same as the syllabus of graduation.
UPCATET 2023 Evaluation
There is a negative marking in the UPCATET 2023 examination. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 3 marks, and for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
UPCATET 2023 Application Form
The application forms for UPCATET 2023 were released on 1st March 2023. The UPCATET 2023 exams is scheduled to be conducted on 30 and 31 May 2023. Below are the instructions for the application and the application process for UPCATET 2023.
UPCATET 2023 Application Process

- Candidates must visit the official website www.upcatetexam.org and click on New Registration.
- Candidates will be required to fill out the required details such as DOB, Grade 10 marks, contact details, etc.
- In the next step after the registration, the candidates will have to upload the scanned copy of their documents that must include the following documents: right index finger impression, passport size photograph, signatures, Grade 10 marksheet, sports certificate, etc.
- In the next step, candidates must pay the registration fee.
Instructions for Filling Out the Application Form
- Candidates must carefully select the group of subjects as per their qualifications.
- The main category must be selected from UR/EWS/OBC/SC/ST.
- The sub-category must be selected from DP/FF/PwD/UE/ etc.
- Two examination centres must be selected, and their unique centre codes must be noted.
- The candidates’ photographs must be in JPG format.
- The photograph must be taken on 13 January 2023, or later. On the photograph, the name, aadhaar card and the date of photograph taken must be clearly mentioned.
- Candidates must avoid wearing spectacles or caps in the photograph.
- Candidates must take 15 copies of the photograph to be used for formalities till admission.
- For signatures, a black ball-point pen must be used on a white sheet of paper. The scanned copy of the signatures must be in the JPG format, which should not exceed 50-100 KB in size.
- The scanned copy of JPG image of the right index finger must not exceed 50-100 KB in size.
UPCATET 2023 Application Fee
The application fee and the transaction charges are payable by the candidate. Candidates of the Unreserved category (UR) – commonly called the General category, the Other Backward Classes (OBC) and the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) must pay an amount of Rs 1250/-. The candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) must pay an amount of Rs 1050/- as the application fee.
