Online Counselling Procedure

The procedure for online counselling is described below in detail:

Step-1: Online Registration

  1. Visit the official website at www.upcatetexam.org and click on the link ‘New Registration for Counselling’.
  2. On the next page, enter the programme, roll no. and date of birth. Click on ‘Generate OTP’. An OTP will be received on the registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on ‘Proceed’.
  3. On the next page, generate a new password and then click on ‘Save Password’.
  4. Now, login for the online counselling registration by entering the roll no., date of birth and password.
  5. For every round of counselling, candidates must pay the counselling fee of Rs 500/- online, which is non-refundable. The transaction charge must be paid by the candidate.
  6. On paying the counselling fee online, the registration process for counselling will be completed, and the candidate will then be able to login for choice filling.

Step-2: Online Choice Filling

  1. The registered candidates must click on ‘Step-2’ for choice filling by logging in with the roll no. course, date of birth, and password on the next page.
  2. The next page contains the details of the registration of the candidate. They must check the details properly and then click on ‘Choice Filling’.
  3. The candidates may select the course and university based on their educational qualifications. The candidate must also select the course and university in the order of precedence (course/university of highest priority, first followed by courses/university of lower priority). The seats will be allotted in the same order in which the candidate has filled the university, course, free seat and paid seat.
  4. Click on ‘Save’ after completing the ‘Choice Filling’. The choice will remain saved until the candidate locks it. If they do not lock the choice till the last date of the choice filling and locking process, the choice will be locked automatically after the last date.
  5. Candidates must select only those courses in which they are eligible, as per their educational qualifications. Hence, candidates are advised to go through the brochure before selecting the course of preference.

Step-3: Online Choice Locking

  1. Candidates will have to lock their saved choices before the end of the due dates.
  2. Candidates must check their saved choices and their order carefully before locking them. Once locked, choices would not be changed.
  3. If the candidate does not lock the choice till the last date of the choice locking process, the choice will be locked after the last date automatically.

Step-4: Seat Allocation and Result Declaration

  1. The seats will be allotted on the mentioned date based on the merit list and the choices filled by the candidates.
  2. The candidates will be informed about the same on their registered mobile number and email ID. Candidates can check the result of their seat allocation by logging into their registered account on the counselling portal.

Step-5: Documents Uploading

  1. The candidates who have been allotted the seats must upload their documents by logging into their registered accounts.
  2. The candidates must upload the PDF of all of their certificates and documents, including the results, caste certificate, Person with Disability (PwD) certificate, Freedom Fighter (FF) certificate, Defence Person (DP) certificate, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate, and the University Employee (UE) certificate.
  3. Candidates can upload their documents only on the online counselling portal. Documents submitted by any other means, such as email, WhatsApp or fax will not be accepted.

Step-6: Documents Verification

  1. The candidates need to verify their uploaded documents.
  2. Post verification, the candidates will receive the confirmation on their registered email ID and mobile number through text message. Candidates can check the status of their applications on the online counselling portal.

Step-7: Documents Re-uploading

  1. If any document is found to be incorrect at the time of the verification, the candidate will be informed through their registered email and phone number. They will have to re-upload the correct documents within the given time frame.
  2. Candidates are advised to keep a track of emails and text messages during the counselling process regularly.

Step-8: Documents Re-verification

  1. The re-uploaded documents will be re-verified.

Step-9: Payment of Security Fees

  1. After the verification of the uploaded documents, candidates will have to pay an amount of Rs 5000/- as the security fee within the stipulated time.
  2. Candidates must download and keep a copy of the deposited security fees slip.
  3. In case of failure to pay the online security fee, the candidature of the concerned candidate will be cancelled.

Step-10: Downloading the Provisional Allotment Letter

  1. Candidates can download their Provisional Allotment Letter from their accounts after the payment of the security fees.

Step-11: Reporting to the University

  1. Candidates will have to complete the admission process and the document verification on reporting to the allotted university.
  2. Candidates have to carry all the required documents (given below), along with their Provisional Allotment Letter and the deposited salary slip, while reporting to the university.

Offline Counselling and Special Counselling Procedure

After completing two rounds of online counselling, seats will be allotted through offline counselling and special counselling. Candidates need to follow the following Instructions for getting a seat through offline counselling.

  1. Candidates will have to register themselves online for offline and special counselling within due time.
  2. A registration fee of Rs 500/- has to be paid by the candidate for registration into each offline counselling session. Thereafter, candidates can download their Offline Counselling Letters from the portal.
  3. Candidates who have registered online must reach the Banda University of Agriculture and Technology (Banda) within the stipulated time to attend the offline counselling process.
