Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (UPCET) or Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2021. NTA is a self-sustained, autonomous independent organisation that conducts tests maintaining the international standards and ensures to bring out the talent that best suit to get an admission in the premiere Indian institutions of higher education.
The UPCET exam (earlier known as UPSEE) is conducted for many fields of education that are offered at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU, formerly known as UPTU), Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), along with other premiere institutes In Uttar Pradesh. These fields span from engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture, hotel management, civil engineering, technology to Ph.D. courses in various specialisations.
UPCET (UPSEE) 2023 Updates
UPCET is not conducted by NTA for the year 2023. UPCET 2023 has been substituted by other national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, NATA and CUET for getting admission in colleges affiliated with AKTU, MMMUT, and other state universities of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who score valid marks in JEE Main, CUET, or CUET PG can apply for UPCET 2023 Counselling or UPTAC 2023.

UPCET 2023 (UPTAC) Counselling dates are not yet published by the exam conducting body. Candidates can visit the official website (uptac.admissions.nic.in/) to get more information about the counselling process. However, we will update the counselling schedule for various courses here.

General Eligibility Criteria
Before proceeding to apply for the UPCET counselling, the candidate must ensure his/her eligibility as described by the authoritative bodies of the respective exams. Following points are to be checked before applying for the exam:
- Age: There is no age-limit for this exam.
- Domicile: A candidate domicile of Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) who has appeared for the qualifying exam (intermediate or 10+2 level or equivalent examination) from any of the institutions of U.P. or a candidate whose parents are a domicile of U.P. is eligible to apply for UPCET-2023.
- Nationality: A candidate with either of the Indian/ NRI/ FN/ PIO nationalities can appear in the exam.
- NRI candidates having the minimum requisite qualification may get a direct admission in 5% of the total number of seats in all courses except for courses- MBA and MCA.
- NRI candidates applying for the B.Arch course may need to appear in the Aptitude test.

Eligibility Criteria for AKTU
The Eligibility Criteria for admissions in various courses offered by AKTU are decided by CAB/ AKTU, the candidate must go through the Information Brochure given on the official website of AKTU i.e. www.aktu.ac.in .
Brief details for the eligibility of different courses that come in the broad range of courses provided by AKTU are listed below.

- For Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma)- 4 years:
(a.) Candidates must have passed Grade-12 or equivalent examination.
(b.) Candidates must have passed his/her Grade-12 examinations with the subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or Biology) as major subjects.
(c.) Candidates must secure an aggregate percentage of 55% (5% relaxation for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

- For Bachelor of Design (B.Des)- 4 years, Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Services (BHMCT)- 4 years, Bachelor of Vocational Courses (B.Voc)- 3 years, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)- 3 years, Bachelor of Fashion and Apparel designing (BFAD)- 4 years:
(a.) Candidates must have passed Grade-12 or equivalent examination.
(b.) Candidates must secure an aggregate percentage of 45% (5% relaxation for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

- For Integrated MBA- 5 years:
(a.) Candidates must have pursued a 3 year graduate degree program or equivalent.
(b.) Candidates must secure an aggregate percentage of 45% (5% relaxation for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

- For MCA:
(a.) Candidates must have pursued BCA/ Bachelor degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree or B.Sc, B.Com, B.A. with mathematics
(b.) Candidates must secure an aggregate percentage of 50% (5% relaxation for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

- For Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)- 3 years:
(a.) Candidates must have passed Grade-12 or equivalent examination.
(b.) Candidates must have passed his/her Grade-12 examinations with English as the compulsory subject.
(c.) Candidates must secure an aggregate percentage of 55% (5% relaxation for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

- For Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma)- 4 years:
(a.) Candidates must have passed Grade-12 or equivalent examination with 55% marks.
(b.) Candidates must have passed his/her Grade-12 examinations with the subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or Biology) as compulsory subjects.
(c.) Candidates must secure an aggregate percentage of 45% (5% relaxation for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

- For Integrated MBA and MCA:
(a.) Candidates must have pursued a 3 year graduate degree program or an equivalent degree from a UGC recognised Institute of India.
(b.) Candidates must secure an aggregate percentage of 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to the SC or ST category). in the qualifying examination.

- For M.Sc Physics:
(a.) The candidates must have a bachelor graduate (preferably science) 3-years degree from one of the UGC recognised colleges in India.
(b.) The candidates must have appeared in the qualifying graduate examination with Physics as the subject for all three years and mathematics for at least 2 years. The marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examinations must be no less than 50% (45% in case of SC/ST candidates).

- For M.Sc Mathematics:
(a.) Candidates must have pursued a 3 year bachelor’s graduate degree program (preferably in Science) from a UGC recognised Institute of India.
(b.) The candidates must have appeared in the qualifying graduate examination with Mathematics for all the 3 years. The marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examinations must be no less than 50% (45% in case of SC/ST candidates).

- For M.Sc Chemistry:
(a.) Candidates must have pursued a 3 year bachelor’s graduate degree program (preferably in Science) from a UGC recognised Institute of India.
(b.) The candidates must have appeared in the qualifying graduate examination with Chemistry for all the 3 years. The marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examinations must be no less than 50% (45% in case of SC/ST candidates).

- For M.Tech Courses:
(a.) The GATE qualified candidates with desired qualifications will be given the first preference for admissions.
(b.) The UPCET-2021 qualified candidates will be given the admissions only to the seats left after taking the admissions of the GATE qualified candidates.

However, since the exam is replaced by the UPTAC counselling, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of the required exams (JEE Main/ CUET/NATA) and apply accordingly.
