What is XAT?
XAT stands for Xavier Aptitude Test. XAT is a Computer Based Test that is conducted by XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute) on behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes). The XAT exam score is used by more than 160 institutes for admission. XAT 2023 is expected to be on the first Sunday of January 2023 i.e. 1 January 2023. The XAT entrance exam is conducted across various cities in India.

The XAT 2022 was held on 2 January 2022. The XAT 2023 Notification will be released around November 2022. The XAT last date to register for XAT and XLRI will be tentatively in November 2022. The XAT 2023 exam date is yet to be announced. Candidates can check the XAT 2023 official website for the registration process once the XAT notification is released. The XAT online test consists of 2 Parts. Part 1 consists of Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation section. Whereas Part 2 consists of General Knowledge and Essay section. The Essay section was reintroduced in XAT 2022. However, the Essay question will be evaluated after the candidate has been shortlisted for the interview. The XAT exam is conducted annually. The duration of the XAT exam is 190 minutes which is divided into Part 1 which has a sectional time limit of 165 minutes and Part 2 which has a sectional-time limit of 25 minutes.

Candidates need to register for XLRI XAT 2023 exam on the XAT official website. Candidates can also apply for XAT Associate Institutes through the XAT scorecard. Candidates need to remember that the payments for registration for XAT and XLRI are non- refundable.

The XAT exam 2023 consists of two-time bound parts. Part 1 consists of 3 sections-Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation, and Part 2 consists of General Knowledge and Essay. XAT 2023 Syllabus

XAT Syllabus 2023 for Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation
The Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation section of the XAT entrance exam consists of 28 questions. The XAT Syllabus of Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation section consists of questions from both the quantitative ability and questions on data sets which are a part of the Data Interpretation. This section consists of 25 questions. The General Knowledge section is not there in the CAT exam. This section does not have any negative marking. XAT Syllabus 2023 for Essay Section
The Essay Section was reintroduced in XAT 2023. There is only 1 question in this section. The candidates are given two topics and they are required to select one topic for the Essay writing. In this section, the candidates are required not to exceed 250 words. The Essay will be evaluated after the candidate has been shortlisted for the interview. The topics for the Essay are usually on abstract ideas. There is no fixed syllabus for the Essay section.
XAT Eligibility
The XAT Eligibility criteria refer to the basic requirement that a candidate needs to meet in order to be eligible to appear for the XAT exam. Candidates must be aware of the XAT eligibility criteria before they register themselves for the exam.
The XAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria are prescribed below
- There is no restriction on the age
- In terms of educational qualification, candidates must have completed their 3 years of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by a University or Deemed University
- Candidates in their final year of Graduation can also apply
- NRI candidates can apply through GMAT
XAT Registration
The XAT Registration’s last date is usually in November. Candidates keen on seeking admission into XLRI or any of the XAT member institutions need to register for the XAT exam. The candidates can download the XAT admit card tentatively in December. The XAT Exam date is usually on the first Sunday of January. Candidates need to note that the payment made towards the XAT Registration is non-refundable. The overview of the XAT registration process is given below
Visit the official website: Candidates are required to visit the XAT official website and get themselves registered. Candidates need to have a valid email id and mobile number for registration
Filling the personal details: The candidates are then required to fill the following details in the registration form:
- Name
- Valid Email Address
- Mobile Number
- Choose a password
- Select state and city
After this the candidates will receive the XAT ID and Password on their registered email id.
Logging in through XAT ID and Password and filling the XAT application form: The candidates are required to fill in the details correctly, upload the required documents, photograph and signature and select the XAT test city centre.
XAT Exam Fees Payment: Lastly, the candidates are required to pay the XAT exam fees in order to complete the XAT registration process.
