XAT syllabus consists of topics from Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation, General Knowledge, and Essay Section. The XAT syllabus 2022 was revised with the reintroduction of the Essay section. The Essay section of the XAT exam syllabus will be evaluated only for the candidates who are shortlisted for the PI round. XAT is considered to be a popular exam for management aspirants. The three sections of the XAT Syllabus namely Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Aptitude, and Data Interpretation are considered for evaluating the total percentile. The XAT 2023 syllabus is not officially prescribed by the XAT Authorities, however, based on the previous year’s trends, BYJU’S experts have compiled a list of topics as a part of the XAT Syllabus. Candidates need to be aware of the XAT Exam Pattern before they start their preparation.
XAT Exam Pattern
The XAT Exam consists of two time-bound sections namely Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 consists of Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation. Part 2 consists of the General Knowledge and Essay Section. The total time provided for attempting Part 1 of XAT Paper is 165 minutes and for Part 2 is 25 minutes. For each correct response the candidate will be provided with +1 mark and in case of an incorrect answer, the candidate will be penalized with – 0.25 mark. Candidates need to note that there is a negative marking of -0.10 mark for every unattempted question after 8 unattempted questions. The PWD candidates will get an extra time of 20 minutes per hour which results in an extra 55 minutes for Part 1 and 5 minutes extra for Part 2.
XAT Syllabus- Overview
The XAT syllabus was revised for XAT 2022 with the reintroduction of the Essay section. Though, the essay will be evaluated only for those candidates who will qualify for the interview round. The Decision Making section is only there in the XAT syllabus as other exams do not have this section. The exam will be conducted for a total of 190 minutes and is divided into two time-bound sections. Candidates can check the table given below to get an understanding of the XAT Syllabus.
