CBSE Pre-Exam Counselling

CBSE board is providing pre-exam counselling through telephone and newspapers in the form of Question and Answer columns, for the students appearing for board examination, with the aim of de-stressing them from exam related fear.

The Pre-Examination counselling for students and parents began from the 1st of February and will continue till 22nd April, 2016. This year 76 Principals, Trained Counsellors, and Psychologists will participate this project.

60 of them are available in India while 16 others are located in other countries like Nepal, Japan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & UAE. It is a voluntary and free of cost service arranged by CBSE. CBSE has conducted feedback and training sessions for the participants to enhance their counselling skills.

Board aspirants in India can get the counselling over the telephone by calling toll free number 1800-11-8004. One can reach to these pre-exam counsellings between 8 AM to 10 PM on all days. CBSE experts and counsellors will also answer queries of students and parents through weekly Question Answer columns to be published in major national newspapers like The Hindu, Hindustan Times, Malayala Manorama and Amar Ujala, during the month of February 2016. CBSE has arranged counselling facility for differently abled children also so that their needs and anxiety of these special children can be taken care of.

Along with these initiatives, CBSE has provided exam related tips and techniques to cope up with the anxiety and stress on its official portal. CBSE has explained what kind of physical and physiological reactions occur in the body due to stress and what are their symptoms. This information also guides students on how to deal this stress with Stress Management. CBSE also provided a check list of Must-Dos for parents and students.

This counselling session is a part of the board’s counselling scheme. The board conducts counselling twice annually in an academic calendar. One is during February to April as Pre-Exam counselling and another during the month of May-June during post results.
