In its recent announcement, the Central Board of Secondary Education stated that the results of CBSE class 10 and class 12 examination, this year, would be released one or two weeks earlier than usual. The results are expected to be declared by the second week of May.
The Central Board of Secondary Education is all set to declare the results earlier than other years taking account of the 2019 Lok Sabha Election. Though the official confirmation of the exact date on which the results would be released is yet to be declared, according to reports, the class 10 results can be expected by the second week of May, within a week from the declaration of class 12 results.
Compartment examination
A student failing in one among the five subjects of external examination can attempt the CBSE Compartment Exam in that subject if the student qualifies in all the subjects of internal assessment. A maximum of three chances will be provided to the candidates to appear for the compartment exams. The first chance being in July/August of the same year, the second chance during March/April of the next and finally, the third chance would be during the compartment exam conducted in July/August of that year.

A student who was either absent or has failed in all the chances of the compartment would be considered to have failed in the exam. These students will have to attend the examination, in all subjects, at the subsequent annual examination. On a lighter note, students who are re-appearing in the next annual session will have to appear only in the theory examination and not the practical examination. CBSE, from this year, will be issuing a single, combined document of the certificate and mark sheet for class 10 board exams.
