Class 6 State Board To Follow NCERT Curriculum

The 6th standard students of state board will have to study NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) books for mathematics and science for the academic session 2018-2019.

The Department of Primary and Secondary Education decided to ensure that the curriculum of state syllabus schools to be in the same level with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Department of Primary and Secondary Education took this step after the State Board syllabus textbooks came under criticism from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The NCERT said the curriculum textbooks were not learner-centric.

The Class 9 students of state board have already been studying under the NCERT curriculum since 2017-2018. The students of 10th standard will also be brought under the NCERT syllabus for all subjects from the coming academic years. According to sources, class 7 and class 8 will also be brought under the NCERT curriculum in the future.
