Report on Independence Day Celebrations at B.B.S. Academy

Like every year, B.B.S. Academy, Rourkela, celebrated Independence Day with great pomp and splendour. Since it was the 75th Independence Day, the B.B.S. Academy decided to celebrate the occasion in a grand fashion. The Dean of the college invited ex-army officials to be a part of the program. Apart from them, Mr. Manoj Tripathi, the M.P. of the area, was invited to be the chief guest of the function.

The Independence Day function started at 10 o’ clock in the morning with the army personnel and Mr. Manoj Tripathi lighting the diyas and unfurling the national flag. Commencing the function, the Dean of the B.B.S. Academy gave a speech on the importance of Independence Day to Indians. The choir group sang a few patriotic songs and students of various classes performed a beautiful dance. The Chairman invited the Army personnel to share their experience of serving the country and to inspire the students. After their speech, Mr Singha was called to say a few words about the event and give away prizes to meritorious students. The program ended with the National Anthem and the Chairman extending his gratitude to all the esteemed guests in the event, the staff-in-charge, the Student Committee and all the students who were a part of the event.

Report on Independence Day Celebrations at D.P.S. School

D.P.S. School, Bhubaneswar celebrated the 75th Independence Day on Thursday. The event consisted of speeches from eminent personalities like the Police Commissioner, the Assistant Superintendent of Police and other dignitaries. There were also programmes like dances, songs, acts, gymnastics, and a parade by the N.C.C. students.

The event started with the Principal of the school, the Assistant Superintendent of Police, and B.D.O. hoisting the national flag. After the flag hoisting, the students of the four different houses started their march past and saluted the National Flag. After the march past came to an end, the students of senior classes put together an act of how various freedom fighters fought the British army and sacrificed themselves to free India. The brilliant act managed to bring everyone to the brink of tears. This act also ended up being the highlight of the day.

The school choir team did a phenomenal job by singing the famous song by Lata Mangeshkar, “Aye Mere Vatan Ke Logo’ on this auspicious day. Following this, the student host welcomed the Police Commissioner, B.D.O. and other dignitaries to distribute prizes to the students who had performed exceptionally well in studies and sports throughout the year. The Principal also asked the Assistant Superintendent of Police to say a few words on the occasion and he motivated the students to work for their country when they grow up. The event came to a close with the National Anthem.
