The Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is an online entrance examination that offers admission to MDes and PhD programmes. This examination is conducted by the prestigious learning institution, IIT Bombay. The CEED 2023 score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result.

CEED 2023 Examination Centres

CEED 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Students must check the eligibility criteria for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2023 to apply for it. Besides, prior to applying for the Common Entrance Examination for Design, students should check and verify the eligibility criteria required for admission to different participating institutes.

Below are the eligibility criteria students must know to appear for the CEED 2023 test.

  • Students must have cleared a diploma/degree/postgraduate programme of a minimum of three years duration (post 10+2 level) or should be taking up the final year exam programmes by July 2023 or should have cleared the diploma in the GD Arts programme (10+5 level) by July 2023.
  • No limitation on the number of times a student can take up the CEED test.
  • No upper age limit for appearing for CEED 2023.

The CEED 2023 test will be divided into Parts A and B. Candidates are required to answer questions from both sections.

Three different forms of objective questions are included in Part A: Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Choice Question (MCQ), and Multiple Select Question (MSQ). Part A answers must be entered into a computer. These will be questions of the sort used to test a candidate’s design sensitivity as well as their visual and spatial ability, language, and observational skills.

Five questions make up Part B. They are used to evaluate students’ abilities in writing, drawing, and design. The answers to the questions in Part B are to be written in the answer book provided by the exam invigilator. The questions in Part B will be displayed on a computer screen.

CEED 2023 Syllabus

As we know, CEED 2023 includes two sections (Part A and Part B). For any exam, the syllabus is the crucial component. Candidates should know the CEED 2023 syllabus and start preparing for the exam as soon as they apply and receive the exam dates. CEED 2023 Application Form

Registration is the first step of filling out the CEED 2023 application form. The registration and submission of the application CEED 2023 form must be made online on the official website. 30th September 2022 marks the opening of the registration portal.

Before completing the CEED application form, students are advised to read the instructions provided by the authorities. By selecting the “Report Problem” button on the right side of the form, students can report any issues while filling out the CEED application form.

NOTE: The above-mentioned registration fee is non-transferable and non-refundable.

While submitting the application form, the registration fee must be paid via the payment options mentioned on the website. The online registration portal includes comprehensive instructions for paying the registration fee. Students can use debit card/credit card/net banking options. The registration fee mentioned above DOES NOT comprise service fees, additional costs, and any processing fees that the banks may charge.

The standard registration cost is valid until the prescribed closing date of registration. Applicants must pay INR 500 as a late charge upon submitting the registration form post the prescribed deadline.

Instructions for Filling the CEED 2023 Registration Form

  • Students must upload a recent colour photograph in the .jpg format with the dimensions specified on the registration portal.
  • An image of the candidate’s signature in .jpg format should be uploaded.
  • If the course has been completed, a scanned copy of the degree or diploma certificate (.pdf format) must be uploaded. Upload a copy of the final year mark sheet or the provisional certificate. If a final degree certificate is unavailable and the course has not been completed, students can upload a certificate from the department head or college principal in the appropriate format.
  • Candidates must present valid category certificates (.pdf files) issued by authorised authorities in order to be considered for the EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL category. Only certificates issued as of 1st April 2022 and after are acceptable for the exam, including EWS/OBC-NCL credentials. Candidates must have a current category certificate when submitting a CEED 2023 application form for admission to the specified institute. All category certificates must be in the format prescribed by the authorities.
  • Candidates should present a valid medical certificate (.pdf file) issued by the appropriate authority if they apply under the Physical Disability (PwD) category. The medical certificate must specify that the handicap is at least 40% significant to obtain a reservation. According to the given format, candidates who are dyslexic must also get a certificate from the principal or head of their college or institution (.pdf file). For candidates who are dyslexic, the certificate must explicitly specify that their condition is SEVERE and PERMANENT.
  • If a PwD candidate needs a scribe or compensatory time during the exam, they must upload a letter of request following the format given on the official CEED portal.
  • Candidates whose names differ from those on their degree or diploma certificates must present a gazette notice, a marriage certificate, or scanned passport pages attesting to the name change (.pdf file).

CEED 2023 Admit Card

Starting from 13th January 2023 until the day of the exam, CEED 2023 admit card will be accessible for download from the official CEED website. Before going to the exam centre, students are advised to take a clear printout of the CEED admit card. Candidates should get the CEED 2023 admit card along with a valid photo identity proof (original) to the exam venue. Photo identity proof includes voter ID, college-issued identity card, driving licence, PAN card, passport, Aadhar card or printed e-Aadhar card.

The candidate’s photo and signature provided during the CEED registration process will be printed on the CEED admit card and the scorecard. If there are any discrepancies on the CEED 2023 admit card, students are advised to get in touch with the concerned exam authorities.

CEED 2023 Answer Keys

After the CEED examination, the authorities will release the draft answer key for Part A and the candidate’s response for Part A. Students can access and download their responses through the link provided on the official website. If there are any discrepancies in the draft answer keys, students can report them through the official CEED website.

NOTE: The candidates’ responses for Part A of CEED 2023 will be available for download.

Question appearing order may differ for each applicant who appeared for the CEED 2023 exam. Hence, the students are advised to use the Master Question Paper as a reference to upload their queries/comments. This would help the committee to map the candidate’s comments/queries to the right question.

CEED 2023 Results

Provision for re-totalling or re-valuation is NOT provided in the Common Entrance Examination for Design. Under any circumstance, re-totalling or re-valuation requests shall NOT be entertained by the authorities. The CEED 2023 final score shall be calculated by giving 75% weightage to marks obtained in Part B and 25% weightage to marks obtained in Part A.

Marks secured in Part A will be displayed for every candidate who has appeared in the CEED exam. Marks secured in Part B will be displayed ONLY for shortlisted candidates. CEED 2023 rank will be announced only for the shortlisted candidates. The CEED 2023 result/scorecard is valid for one year from the date of declaration of the result.

Using the respective exam login credentials, students can login to the official website to view the CEED 2023 results. Students are suggested to take a print of the CEED 2023 result. The hard copy of the CEED result/scorecard will NOT be sent by the authorities to the candidates.

CEED 2023 Counselling

The authorities will not organise CEED 2023 counselling for admission to various colleges. Candidates must apply separately to the institute of their choice. Students can access the CEED 2023 participating college list or refer to the section given above to know the list of colleges accepting the CEED 2023 score. Based on CEED 2023 exam scores and the eligibility requirement of each institution, authorities will release the ranks based on the seat allotment lists.

CEED 2023 Exam Day Instructions

The below instructions are applicable for the CEED exam day, 22nd January 2023 (Sunday).

  • Students should report at the exam venue at 7:00 a.m on 22nd January 2023 along with the CEED admit card and a valid ID proof (original) issued by the government. Thumb impressions and photographs are required as a part of biometric information before appearing for the examination.
  • Students will not be permitted to take the exam without proper identity proof.
  • Candidates must bring their stationery materials like pencils, pens, and sketch/colour pens for the examination. Drawing sheets will be provided to the students by the authorities.
  • Calculators, mobile phones, digital watches, and smartwatches are NOT allowed inside the exam venue. Candidature will be disqualified if the candidate is found using any electronic gadgets.
  • Seating arrangements will be displayed on the notice board of the CEED exam venue.
