Common University Entrance Test (CUET) - 2023

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET), formerly known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), has been introduced for admission to all the UG and PG courses available in the Central Universities and other Universities of the State. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which has been established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, conducts efficient, transparent and standardised tests to assess candidates in terms of their knowledge, problem-solving skills and other analytical skills. NTA conducts CUET to take admission of highly meritorious candidates into the various Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses of the premier higher education institutions.

CUET 2023 Important Dates

The Undergraduate Common University Entrance Test ( UG CUET) is conducted in 13 languages across the country in computer-based online mode. The examination is conducted in two slots: one slot in the morning and another one during the afternoon. All the important dates for CUET 2023 are as follows:

Note: In some cities, the count of registered candidates is very large, so the CUET (UG) – 2023 examination will be extended to 01 and 02 June 2023 as well as 05 and 06 June 2023. Moreover, buffer days of 07 and 08 June 2023 are also being kept as reserve days.

CUET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The National Testing Agency (NTA) determines the Eligibility Criteria for CUET 2023. The Eligibility Criteria can be found in Information Brochure available on the Official NTA website. Candidates must ensure that they fulfil all the Eligibility Criteria for CUET 2023. CUET 2023 Exam Pattern

The Exam Pattern for CUET 2023 has been revised by the Examination Commission recently. The CUET Undergraduate Exam (CUET UG) Question paper will have 3 Sections: Language, Domain Knowledge and General Aptitude. Candidates must select the Language and the Domain of their interest; the General Aptitude will be common and the same for all candidates.

The CUET 2023 will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), carrying 1 Mark each. The exam duration will be of two hours and will contain questions on Language, Domain and General Aptitude. The examination will consist of three parts; there will be 25 General Aptitude and Language Questions in Part A and 25 + 25 Domain Questions in Part B.

CUET 2023 Syllabus

The CUET 2023 Syllabus is the same as the syllabus of Classes 11 and 12 School Curriculum. The Subjects to be prepared for the CUET UG – Science Paper 01 include physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, numerical ability questions, general knowledge, and English. The Subjects to be prepared for CUET UG – Non-Science Paper 02 include: English, logical reasoning, numerical ability, and general knowledge. CUET 2023 Application Form

The CUET Application Forms were available online from 9th February 2023 to 30 March 2023 (till 9:50 PM). Candidates must visit the official website of NTA or the Samarth official website of CUET to fill out the Application Form. To pay the Online Application Form Fee, the candidates must be aware of the category-wise Application Fee Structure. The category-wise Fee Structure is given below.

NTA has given the following instructions for the application of category-wise statuses of the candidates:

  1. Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer as per the central list of Other Backward Classes available on National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India website www.ncbc.nic.in. Only the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column. State list OBC candidates who are not in OBC-NCL (Central List) must choose General/Unreserved.
  2. As per the OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated 17 January 2019, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the OM No. 12-4/2019-U1 dated 17.01.2019 of MHRD Department of Higher Education regarding the implementation of reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) for admission in Central Educational Institutions.

CUET 2023 Admit Card

Admit Cards for CUET were released online on the official website. The Admit Cards will be available 15 days prior to the examination. Only the candidates who have filled out the application form successfully can get an Admit Card for the CUET 2023.

The CUET 2023 Admit Card will consist of the following information: candidate’s name and application number, date of birth, father’s name, time and day of examination, candidate’s photograph and signature, exam centre code and address, and the subject of examination. It is mandatory for the candidates to take the Admit Card to the examination centre on the day of the examination.

The steps to download the Admit Cards are as follows:

  1. Visit the official website.
  2. Click on the “Download CUET 2023 Admit Card” link.
  3. Enter the unique Application/Enrollment number, and then click on “Submit”.
  4. Download the CUET 2023 Admit Card that should be carried along by the candidates on the day of the examination.

CUET 2023 Results

CUET 2023 Results will be declared online on the official NTA website tentatively in the fourth week of September. The Results are expected to be announced in the form of scorecards. Candidates will be able to download their scorecards online from the official website, i.e. nta.in, by entering their application number and date of birth. Candidates must take a printout of the Results and keep it for use during the counselling and admission processes.

The CUET 2023 Results will contain the following details: Roll number, name of the candidate, date of CUET, subject, maximum marks of the examination, rank secured, and the marks scored by the candidate in each section, along with the total marks scored.

CUET 2023 Counselling

There will be no common Counselling for CUET 2023. The candidates will have to participate individually in the Counselling conducted by the participating universities. There are a total of 43 Central Universities, 12 Deemed Universities, 13 State Universities, and 18 Private Universities that conduct Counselling on the basis of CUET 2023 scores.
