National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate: NEET PG 2023

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET PG) is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admissions to several Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and PG Diploma courses in private, deemed, government or central universities. The examination is a computer-based online examination that contains 200 Multiple Choice Questions. The results will be announced on the official website of the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The NEET PG 2023 Counselling will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

NEET PG 2023 Highlights

The NEET PG 2023 consist of 200 questions, each carrying 4 marks for the right answer. The examination is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The question paper of NEET PG 2023 consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). In these questions, four choices will be given, out of which only one will be correct. NEET PG 2023 Eligibility Criteria

To enrol for NEET PG, candidates must be well aware of the eligibility criteria and satisfy them so as to be eligible to appear in the examination. The following are the NBE NEET PG 2023 Eligibility Criteria that must be satisfied by the candidates participating in NEET PG 2023:

  1. Candidates must have pursued MBBS from an institution recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The candidate must either have the MBBS degree or the provisional certificate of the same.
  2. Candidates who graduated with an MBBS degree outside India must have qualified in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE).
  3. Candidates must have completed their rotatory internship on or before July 23, 2023.
  4. Candidates must have a permanent or provisional medical registration certificate as issued by the MCI or the State Medical Council (SMC). The same must be carried with the candidate on the day of examination and during the time of admission.
  5. The candidates who have pursued their MBBS degree course from Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for the All India 50% Quota for seats. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India to pursue their MBBS degree course from the Medical Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir are eligible for the All India 50% Quota of seats. These candidates must submit the duly signed affidavit for the same.

NEET PG 2023 Exam Pattern

The NEET PG is conducted online as a computer-based examination. The duration of the examination is 3 hours 30 minutes. The examination is conducted only in one medium, i.e. English. The NEET PG 2023 Question Paper will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). In these questions, four choices will be given, out of which only one will be correct. The candidates need to check only the correct option on their computer screens. For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded to the candidate, and for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. There will be no marks awarded for the questions left unanswered by the candidates.

Note: Any material from outside, which is not relevant to the examinations, will not be allowed to be taken to the examination centre. Candidates are advised to carry only the required material to the examination centre. Packaged water bottles, a pen and rough paper will be provided at the exam centre.

NEET PG 2023 Application Form

The NEET PG Application Forms will be available on the NBE official website, i.e. www.nbe.edu.in. The candidates will be required to fill in the following details in the NEET PG 2023 Application Form: name, address, contact numbers, school, marks secured during the Grade 10 & 12 examination, and an MBBS degree from a recognised university/institution. After completely filling in all the required details, candidates will be required to pay the NEET PG 2023 Online Application Form Fees. After the payment of NEET PG 2023 Application Form Fees, candidates will receive the Hall Tickets containing the details such as the test centre and the test slot allotted to the candidate. Steps to Fill Out NEET PG 2023 Application Form

Before filling out the NEET PG 2023 Application Form, candidates must ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria in order to be able to appear in the NEET PG 2023 examination. The candidates can fill out the NEET PG 2023 Application Form according to the steps mentioned below:

  • Step 1: Visit the official NBE website.
  • Step 2: Click on the “NEET PG 2023 Registration” link. Fill in all the details required for registration. The login credentials containing the User ID and password will be received on the candidate’s registered email ID and mobile number.
  • Step 3: Candidates will be required to log in with the received User ID and password and fill in all the required details, such as personal details, contact number and email ID, academic, MBBS degree details, preferred test centre, and personal address details.
  • Step 4: Thereafter, the candidates will be required to upload scanned copies of their passport size photographs and signatures. The scanned image of the candidate’s passport size photograph and signatures must not exceed 80 KB in size. The accepted format for both images is either JPG or JPEG.
  • Step 4: After the complete filling out of the NEET PG 2023 Online Application Form, the candidate will be redirected to the payments page to pay the Application Fees online. The candidates can make the payment either by their credit card, debit card or internet banking.
  • Step 5: With the payment of NEET PG 2023 Online Application Fees, the candidate’s application process will be completed. The candidate will then be required to take at least 2 printouts of the Application Form and the Application Fee payment receipt to use them for future references.

Note: The test centres will be confirmed only after the payment of the NEET PG 2023 Online Application Fees by the candidate.

NEET PG 2023 Admit Card

The NEET PG 2023 Admit Card will be available 15 days before the examination. The candidates will be able to download their NEET PG 2023 Admit Cards until the day of the examination. The candidates will be required to paste their passport-size photographs on the downloaded and printed Admit Cards.

Candidates must follow the below-given steps to download their NEET PG 2023 Admit Cards:

  • Step 1: Visit the official NBE website and click on the candidate login for NEET PG 2023.
  • Step 2: Enter the User ID and password to log in to the candidate profile.
  • Step 3: Click on the Download Admit Card option. The NEET PG 2023 Admit Card will appear on the screen. The candidates are advised to verify all the details given in the Admit Card thoroughly before proceeding to download and print the Admit Card.
  • Step 4: After verifying all the details given in the NEET PG 2023 Admit Card, click on “Download Admit Card”, and then take at least 2 printouts of the downloaded Admit Card for the time of Examination, Counselling and Admission references.

NEET PG 2023 COVID Guidelines for the Exam Day

As per the previous year’s NEET PG COVID Guidelines issued by the NBE, the guidelines for NEET PG 2023 examination day are given here below:

  1. Entry to the NEET PG Exam Centre: To avoid the overcrowding at the last moment while entering the exam hall, the candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at the time mentioned on their NEET PG 2023 Admit Cards. Candidates are advised to keep some distance from each other as advised by the local officials at the exam centre.
  2. Isolation Labs: The body temperature of each and every candidate will be checked using the Thermo Guns before allowing their entries into the exam hall. The candidates showing even mild or major COVID symptoms will be allowed to appear for the exam only in the Isolation Labs.
  3. Face Masks: It is mandatory for all candidates to bring their face masks on the day of the examination. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without covering their face with a face mask. Candidates must not bring any items which are irrelevant and unnecessary to the exam. Each candidate will receive a drinking water bottle at the exam centre.
  4. Staggered Exit of the Candidates: The Candidates are advised to exit the examination centre in a staggered manner after the completion of the examination.

NEET PG 2023 Results

The NEET PG 2023 Results will be declared online on the official NBE website shortly after the conduction of the examination. The Result will be in PDF format, which can be downloaded easily by logging into the candidate’s portal. The candidates will receive marks out of the total marks, i.e. 800. To qualify for the NEET PG 2023, candidates must score the minimum cutoff marks in the examination. The candidates can check their NEET PG 2023 Results by the following steps:

  1. After the official notification of the declaration of the results, the candidates will be required to visit the website natboard.edu.in and click on the link NEET PG 2023 Results.
  2. Enter the User ID and password.
  3. The candidate’s NEET PG 2023 Result will then appear on the screen.
  4. Click “Download” to access the Result for future reference.

NEET PG 2023 Counselling

The admissions to several private, government, deemed, or state medical colleges are conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on the basis of the NEET PG exam. Only the State Quota Seats are allotted by the State Counselling Authorities of the NEET PG 2023. All the NEET PG 2023 qualified candidates will be allowed to participate in Counselling.

After the allotment of seats, candidates will be required to provide an option for an upgrade. The candidates will have to report to the allotted college/university within the stipulated time with the allotment letter.
