VOLCET 2023 Reservation
(i) 22% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates and 6% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates in Government & Government Sponsored Polytechnics. Non-resident candidates are not eligible for these reserved seats. If there is a shortage of eligible ST candidates, the vacant seats will be converted to the SC category after considering all merit-listed ST candidates.
(ii) Up to 5% of the total intake capacity in Government and Government Sponsored Polytechnics is reserved for Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates. If there is a shortage of eligible candidates in this category, the vacant seats will be converted to the General category after considering all merit-listed Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates.
(iii) Women’s Polytechnic, Kolkata, and Women’s Polytechnic, Chandannagar, are exclusively reserved for female candidates.
(iv) Ramakrishna Mission Shilpapitha, Belgharia, is exclusively for male candidates.
(v) Government and self-financed (Private) institutes have separate fee structures. Government Institutes charge Rs. 50/- per month as a tuition fee, while self-financed institutes charge Rs. 1,500/- per month as a tuition fee, as per the latest Government Order.
(vi) Admission through Management Quota is not applicable under the Lateral Entry Scheme.
