Every candidate who wishes to pursue an MBA, dreams of pursuing it in a top management institute. But not everyone is lucky enough to make it to the top B-schools in the country, namely, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Since their establishment, much has changed in the world of Indian business and education system. Many other B-schools were established and some of them have earned a spot among the top B-schools in the country. Nowadays, candidates have a wide range of colleges and courses to choose from, and the selection criteria are not always as stringent as that of the IIMs. That being said, the cut-offs are still pretty high.
According to the general eligibility criteria, a candidate requires:
- Minimum of 50% in graduation from a recognized university or college.
- Minimum of 50% in class 10thand 12th from a recognized board.
- CAT, XAT, MAT, NMAT, SNAP, GMAT scores as required by the Institute.
There is no age limit, and although it is not mandatory, most B-schools prefer candidates with a significant work experience.
Furthermore, the candidate will be evaluated based on the following three parameters:
-
Leadership Potential
The applicant’s leadership ability is gauged by the initiatives he has undertaken in his academic and professional life.
-
Profile
A different job profile with extracurricular achievements, social work, good projects, and internships is often encouraged.
-
Academic Credentials
Candidate’s academic record and test scores will be considered. However, the cut-off of XAT, GMAT, and CAT varies from college to college.
