What is the full form of BHMS?
The full form of BHMS is Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery. BHMS is an academic undergraduate degree course that covers homoeopathic system medical knowledge. The curriculum has a period of five and a half years which involves four and half years of research followed by one year of internship. In the homoeopathic system, the undergraduate curriculum can also be pursued through the distance educational process. A graduate is qualified to become a doctor in the homoeopathic field of medicine after completing a BHMS degree.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifying criteria set down below in order to be admitted to this course.
- 12th level or any equivalent grade from a recognized university.
- An aggregate score of 50 percent in the 12th class.
- Physics, biology, chemistry, and English are mandatory subjects.
- The minimum age is seventeen.
Admission process
Admission to many of the leading institutes for BHMS study is made through an entrance examination. Applicants are required to pass various state and national entrance examinations.
Applicants are determined based on the score obtained in the respective entry test, followed by a group discussion round and a personal interview. With this, the abilities and skills of applicants may be measured and shortlisted. Those applicants who successfully clear the entrance test may show up for further counselling sessions.

Application forms for the entrance test can be found on the official website of the board conducting the exam, which performs the test both online and offline. A demand draft of the fixed amount has to be submitted before filling out the application form via online mode.
